Willard home

On Thursday we went to Willard home we handed our art to them but the person a gave it to let me have it back which was nice but when I told Billy he was like ohhhhhh you get to keep yours yup I said back and then we sung Christmas Crals and flo amlie rebeka and Libby thay all played lots of instermints and we went home. Little gardens

This is a radish from our little Gardens I had a radish it was yum and burning my mouth and I planted a carrot and I really wanted one And I axeerly got it. And I was really happy to see it growing. 

Chapter chat

This year we did something called chapter chat it's something about reading a chapter book and on Friday we have to do ten questions. We have read the person controller maigic far away tree and a lot more. And it's sooooo much fun I really enjoy it. Who does not like chapter books. I mean like picture books are cool and so are chapter books. 

Athletes

On Wednesday we had an athletics, it was fun and hard.  There were so many kids  so match kids and going up the hill was tiring I could not wait to eat my lunch. Yummmmmmmmy!  We did vortex but I don't know what my score was. We also had a sausage sizzle, "Yum!" I said to Alex.  We did discus and running and a whole bunch of other sports. And it was the first time in russellstschool history that kea came first ever since the houses were made. The Kea house was happy and I was too. I was supporting the Kea house even though I'm in Tui house.

Market day

Last Friday we had a market day there was body wash there was jelly and lots of other goodies yummmmy we were going to get a ginger ninja but they were all sold out that was real annoying

every monday we te reo raido  it was helping the whole class with te reo and we made a slide show hope you like it

This is my maths algebra it's getting easier every time I practice it's good fun but it can be hard

We made a movie out of a book called otto grows down but the movies called lukeis grows down 

Flat pack

 Design Brief
We want a decorative model that can be put on top of the shelves by the windows. The model needs to be:

• Made from cardboard
• A flat pack design
• Good enough to go in a shop

We had a go at following instructions to make a flat pack Christmas Tree. We used this concept to help us to create our own flat pack using the design process.

As part of the design process we created prototypes and reflected on what worked and what didn't.

Today I had lots of fun being creative.

Blue hat I pictured in my mind of a zombie apocalypse every single night they would come out and whack the base then Cullen was being silly and broke it me and max were angry 

Red hat in discovery I felt happy because I made a fully founderfid base so the zombies don't get in me and max felt sad 

Yellow hat I showed panekiretanga by help max and Ryan build the space ship it was fun and the stuff that I put down some soft stuff.

What is the point of discovery?

We do discovery because learn to work together and play with new people.

This is my zombie base what's happening here the zombies have killed everyone but us but the base was invaded the base and blow up the base

The magic show

Today we went to watch a magic show called "Eat Right & Be Bright". Vas Kovalski was the Magician.

He taught us about the importance of eating healthy. Everyday we need to eat:

• Fruit 
  
• Vegetables
• Grains
• Protein
  
• Dairy

If we eat well we will get all of the vitamins and minerals we need to be strong and healthy.

Crayon writing

If I was a crayon I would be the colour green because being green is crazy and you can be seaweed and grass and green means a lot of things it's helpful to know when someone is sick and the colour that prudence oxodon and poison and gou and I can make Godzilla green by drawing on him and I think it's his dream colour. Apples are green too. My strengths is to draw and to read and do maths case it's just skoolbo. Making my a good friend is by getting Alex to go crazy and me andr green billy have pet rocks. Bjorn

Today we did maths my favourite activity was making a tinfoil it felt like the titanic but this is a picture that's the maths activity is that's my dye and my buddy did the right ricape

Lolly cake

Lolly Cake

Ingredients:

120 g butter
250 g malt biscuit crumbs
180 g fruit puffs
1/2 tin condensed milk
coconut – for coating

Method:

1. Warm butter and condensed milk together in the microwave.
2. Add biscuit crumbs and fruit puffs.
3. Stir well.
4. Roll into one log or small balls. Coat in coconut.

Today something that went well was...the playdo it was so funny me and Josh where making worms and some are square.

A challenge I had...was getting the oobleck off my hands.

What do I want to do differently next time?

Next time something I would do differently is...play and make a tent with my friends and split the tents

How did I make someone else feel? I made josh happy by doing some funny staff with playdo

My holiday

In the holidays I went to Billy's house for a sleep over his dog Emma is so cute me and Billy played Minecraft then we to the lido it was i said to Billy hurry up come on. I was like come on this takes forever finiaily it was our turn I was very nervous we had a race billy won then I want to go on the tamberlator I was like oh I wish I handint done it I screamed BILLY HELP! But it was the end I said oh my thor then billy came out then I said to billy I don't want to go that slide then it was finiaily it was time to go back home then we had waffles that where tasty and we started building our spacecraft and planes for herobrines power. Then after a few hours it was time for dinner we had tacos for dinner and for podding we had ice cream cake then we played Minecraft with his brother jack and we went to bed ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzZZZ I herd Billy's little sister Lucy snoring it gave me the creeps then we all woke up for breakfast we had waffles it was so yum because I had bananas slices and some of Billy's ice cream cake yummmmmmmm

Our class has been playing Diamond Ball which is like Baseball/Softball.

Planet Earth & Beyond - Pre Assessment

This term we are studying ‘Planet Earth and Beyond’. Part of this Inquiry includes looking at how we get shadows, as well as day and night. Over the term we will be doing different investigations to better our understanding. Below is a sample of my current thinking.

The legend of the moon

long long ago there was no moon in the sky then there was a rumble a giant boulder crashed in to Doin land and it will blow up into a gazillion peices and that's how I think the moon got there.

Cross country

 we started to line up for cross country I sied to my slaf  it's like I ever come 1fst we started to run I ran as fast as I could we ran out of school I made it back to class then I started eating nam nam nam then I  went to lunch.

Mother's Day

On Mother's Day me and mum went on the Mother's Day waik with doug.mum waik 5k steps I got to hold Kane hes a fat sloby dog then we went home I had a good shower I was sweetie then we all went to the herb Fram doug was snefing some toad stole.

Swimming sports

Today was swimming sports the s rushed to the bus drove to the lido then we arrived I was I nervous I nelly cam first in backstroke then I got scared then I cam 3ed to last

Active Listening

We are learning about different types of listening. There are 3 main types of listening that we learnt about. Busy Listening - When the person listening is busy doing something. They are too busy to concentrate on what is being said. Me Too Listening - When the person listening has a story that they feel is more important than the person talking so they interrupt and share their story instead of listening. Active Listening - When the person listening looks at the person talking, concentrates, gives non-verbal feedback (e.g. nodding) and asks questions about the story. To learn about the different types of listening, we watched this video:

 

 As a class we created our own video to help us understand the different types.
After practising each type of listening, we realised…

• Busy listening makes us feel like you’re not listening to us. We found it really hard to keep talking. 
• Me too listening makes us feel frustrated and sad that you think your story is more important. 
• Active listening makes us feel valued. We know you are listening because you are looking, nodding, asking questions. 

 As a class we are all trying to get better at being active listeners.

Music

In music with Jenny we are learning to play in a band. We are all learning different instruments and we are working on our rhythm. Check out our videos:

My goal is to get straight legs and rainbow arms I tried my best. I loved my swimming. Yay I had to do it.

Van Gogh Styled Art

We are learning to paint like Van Gogh. We have read lots of books and watched some tutorials. We've experimented with painting our portraits and now we have had a go at painting sunflowers.
